Clontarf ladies firsts had another win last night in Castle Avenue making it three out of three wins! We lost the toss and Leinster opted to bat first. They made 132 for 5 wickets. Laura Delaney from Leinster made 66 runs before being caught by Laura Cullen at Cover off Gladys Shaw’s bowling. The fielding was great with all wickets coming from 4 catches (2 for Laura Cullen, 1 for Annette McKeon off Cecily Dixons bowling and 1 for Gladys off her own bowling) and Sue Lawless took a lovely direct hit run out from square leg.
Clontarf ladies went out and got 135 in the 18th over for 4 wickets. Emma Thompson and Nicola Murphy had a brilliant partnership with Emma getting 66 runs not out and Nicola making 35 runs off 32 balls. Well done to all the ladies – absolutely great win!!
Thanks to Bill Coghlan and Eoghan Delaney for umpiring and doing score.
